This video was inspired by author Kevin Hall.  Thank you Kevin for your friendship and support.  I agree, dance classes should teach  kids that we all are exceptional and irreplaceable.

Balancing Act

By admin · December 22, 2011 · Filed in Uncategorized · No Comments »

When you have talented children  who choose to take dance classes, you not only have a dancer, you have an artist.  Dance classes open possibilities beyond the dance itself, but to an understanding of the inner self, self discipline, and a heart and mind that is charged with the ability and confidence to create something their very own.

You now have a balanced individual who can see their own potentail and those who have the courage to act on it.

Dance with your heart

The students here take my breath away as I see them in dance classes practicing with not only their bodies, but moving with their whole heart.  I see it with even the tiniest of dancers. Thank you for making this Alpine dance studio a slice of heaven each day you come.

The dancers have always loved dancing in the Festival of Trees at Christmas time. It is such a beautiful way for kids, parents, grandparents to get together to kick off the season. The teachers and dancers, in their classes, have prepared a top notch variety for this years concert. They will be performing ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop and small children dance. In addition, dances include beautiful, peppy, lyrical, poetic, energetic, playful, and heart felt feelings. Creative Edge Dance Studio dancers from Alpine, Highland, Cedar Hills, Lehi, American Fork, and Draper will all be sharing their talents on December 3rd at 11:35 am.

Come share Christmas with us and support the Primary Children’s Hospital at the Festival of Trees. Merry Christmas!

Who’s that dancer?

You know your kids are cute. I agree! However, something has been happening lately in the way she moves, deals with stress, approaches life and YOU LOVE IT! Hmmm… could some of it be her dance classes? Many parents seem to think so. What do you think?

It’s a Party! Watch Us!

The dancers were so excited to have a Halloween party. It was their idea, I would have had to work to try to stop it!  Sierra was the big planning girl and got every one excited. They decorated cookies, chased each other with balloons tied to their ankles,  had face painting, a treasure hunt, and of course danced to Thriller.  The kids  are so fun and cute both in and out of their dance classes.  Thank you  ladies for a FUN evening!!

As the director, I also talked with the Aspire Company dancers about what their goals are for the year and how they will achieve them. We looked at each individual’s goals and set out how to accomplish those goals.  We also talked about how to be cohesive as a group in performance and in their dance classes. Way to go!!

Christmas Concert is coming…

The dancers are working so brilliantly to prepare for their Christmas concert this December 3rd.  The little ones as well as the advanced dancers are preparing. We have beautiful  ballets, peppy jazz pieces as well as expressive modern pieces to round out the program. Thank you dancers for your dedication, bright smiles and for sharing your talents.  The 1st grade class stole my heart today with their bright expressions and creative intuition.  Oh… to be young again. One thing I know is teaching them makes me stay young and reminds of the importance of dance to bring out the best in us.
