Message from the Director

Hello!

As a parent, I appreciate your interest in learning more about what this dance school  has to offer you, your family and your dancer.

I  invite you to read a little of my philosophies  for teaching dance to children and teens.

On a more personal level,  I would also like to share my belief that dance is an art form and that children and teens should be taught using an holistic approach, thus including the heart, mind and physicality of the dancer in instruction.

At our school , myself and the instructors use teaching methodology that infuses repetition, creativity, conceptual and theoretical approaches.

Our technical approach to instruction raises a versatile dancer, which is currently demanded and increasingly so in the dance world.

Creativity and teaching the creative process is paramount at our school, because it is an innovative and confident individual that reaches their full potential and positively impacts our world, in and out of dance.

We encourage student involvement in choreography for the concerts.  We also  encourage  students to choreograph their own solo or duet,  etc in the concert, putting to use the skills they learn here.

Our performances lift and inspire the dancers, with less focus on competition and more focus on dance as an art form.

To  me, dance is highest expression of humanity, involving the mind, the soul and the physical body to transcend the ordinary.

Each child is born with unique gifts, which we celebrate.

At Creative Edge, we bring those gifts to the surface  and provide an environment that facilitates innovative thinking, inspiration, and discovery.

Ultimately, we aim to create a dynamic, fluent dancer, who demonstrates beauty, presence, and confidence in their ability perform and in their ability to create.

Creative Edge dancers embrace dance as an art form,  understands how dance fits in their lives and how they can benefit others with their talents in dance.
